Dr. Alena McCarrell – Rideau Crossing FHC

Dr. Alena McCarrell was born and raised in a small town in Eastern Slovakia.

She graduated from a medical school of P.J. Safarik University in Slovakia in 2005. Subsequently, she obtained a PhD degree in internal medicine in 2010 and completed a 5-year residency program in internal medicine with subspecialty in Diabetes and Disorders of Metabolism and Nutrition in 2011.

She is an internationally experienced physician, who worked in United Arab Emirates for over 5 years as a hospitalist and diabetes specialist.

Dr. McCarrell is very excited to join Rideau Crossing Family Health Centre and take over Dr. Zakhem’s practice. She is dedicated to serve her patients by providing comprehensive and high-quality patient centred care.
