Dr. Rathwell completed his medical school and residency in Family Medicine at Queen’s University in Kingston. Originally from Ottawa, he was pleased to return to the Ottawa area to start his practice and has been in Kemptville since 2007. Along with his family medicine practice, Dr. Rathwell has a special interest in Emergency Medicine and is the Chief of Emergency at the Kemptville District Hospital. Dr. Rathwell enjoys teaching and has academic appointments at both the University of Ottawa and Queen’s University. Dr. Rathwell also has an interest in international health and has participated in two medical outreach missions to East Africa. He is also a volunteer member of the board of directors of the Canada Africa Community Health Alliance. Dr. Rathwell and his wife have three young children.
